After hosting recent, successful nights of progressive dance music, the Progress crew return to The Old Barn for an all-day event. Spread across 3 stages and set over 8 1/2 hours, this May Bank Holiday spectacular is set to open your mind to forward thinking music at it’s best.
But first a little history…
Progress is the brainchild of Portsmouth based Gaz, Ryan and Si who have over 50 years of party experience under their belts. Having DJ’d, VJ’d and danced at gatherings across the globe they have combined their talents to bring a taste of the psychedelic to Portsmouth. After attending two of the previous three events I can confirm they have formed a winning formula. Their combination of great music, stunning visuals and a friendly, energetic vibe is perfectly complimented by the recently revamped Old Barn’s sound system.
To the future…
Sunday 29th May sees Progress ramp up the production once more. The main room line-up is worth the ticket money alone, featuring in no particular order Mr Hedonic, Jut Phipps, Tony Webb, Russ Edwards, Andy Halsey, Alex Mair, Loz Cuckoo and residents Ryan Bushell and Simon Bridgen. Expect driving basslines, euphoric breakdowns, tribal percussion and trance-laced music from across the globe. The room will be transformed with psychedelic decor and feature live mapped visuals, the likes of which will change your perception of how a party should look forever.
Joining Progress in room 2 are Chameleon Collective. Forged out of a love of sound system culture and featuring artists playing everything from reggae to techno and dub to drum and bass, the Milton Arms room will play host to DJs from Digital Pollution, 21st Century Dub Clash, Qbase FM, Fusion and more. Chameleon Collective present in no particular order Jim Rayner, Alton X, Tom Mayhem, Joel O’Beirne, Chris Catch, DJ Vice and Danny Turbo and Rich Randall.
As if that isn’t enough, in the garden situated between The Barn and The Milton Arms there will be a third rig playing Dub, Ambient and Chillout music in the afternoon. The ever eclectic Prince Brandon will be joined by Russ Edwards and Andrew Halsey to bring a sun-drenched, blissed out vibe to the outdoor area.
